spoke too soon

Like so many things in my life, I jumped to the end too soon.

I abandoned my family to go to my knitting group tonight and while I was away Anya apparently peed not once, not twice but THREE times in her underwear.  Mark put her to bed in a diaper.  OH, and apparently Lily wanted to get in on the action so she peed all over the bathroom floor.

Sweet.

At least they did all this while I was away.  Lucky me!

I do have to relay my conversation with Anya before bed last night.  She was insisting on wearing underwear to bed so I asked her what she'd do if she woke up and had to pee.  Before I tell you what she said you have to understand how Anya speaks.  In Anya's language every word or two ends in a period, so her speech is ridiculously emphatic.  She also speaks with her hands, mimicking a little Italian man with all the pointing and hand waving.  So her response had me laughing so hard, I almost had an accident of my own.  With a smile on her face she said, "OH.  If I have. to pee.  I will get. up.  aaaand get out. of bed.  And. I. will. cry!"   End with hand flourish.

And that's pretty much exactly what she did.  At about 6am she came to the top of the stairs and cried out, Mark went up to get her and then took her to the toilet.

Here's hoping we can have a drier tomorrow and start shopping purses soon.
