Lily is about to become a Daisy Scout.
The two Kindergarten classes at her school are getting together to form a troop and we met tonight to work out some of the details. Really important things like we will not make our girls wear these:
And um, we don't understand why these didn't die in the 80's:
But mostly we talked about what we see for our girls future in this troop; how we saw them fulfilling the Girl Scout Law, which reads:
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
I mean, really... how can you NOT get a little excited about that?
Any of you have Girl Scouts in the family? Were you ever a Girl Scout? What's been the good and bad in your experience? Tell me. I need to know!
